Clear Communication

Selected Work

Made for the business behind it.

A selection of concept websites and trade demonstrations — each one designed around a specific kind of business, a clear goal, and thoughtful design.

Swale & Stone Landscape Co. homepage: a warm off-white hero with a serif headline about lawns and planting beds, a request-a-visit button, and a line-drawn site plan of a back yard showing the house, patio, new bed and contour lines.
Swale & Stone Landscape Co. homepage on a phone: the same headline, buttons and site plan stacked for a narrow screen.

Concept website

Project 01

Landscaping & grounds care · South-west suburbs

Swale & Stone Landscape Co.

A grounds-care site organised around the calendar. The service list stays deliberately short, the season-by-season schedule does the persuading, and the estimate path sits at both ends of the page.

Wet Slate Auto Spa homepage: a near-black hero with a bold headline about paint finish, a call/text button, and a line-drawn gloss gauge reading 46 washed and 92 corrected.

Concept website

Project 02

Auto detailing & paint correction · Mobile & in-shop

Wet Slate Auto Spa

A detailing site that shows its work. Packages are laid out by time and process rather than a menu of prices, and the whole booking path is a photo of the car and one sentence about what bothers you.

Harrow & Ridge Construction Co. homepage: a charcoal hero with amber accents, a headline about built-clean remodels, and a line-drawn elevation panel of a rear addition.

Concept website

Project 03

General construction & remodels · Concept website

Harrow & Ridge Construction Co.

An exploratory build for a general contractor, written the way a homeowner reads: what gets built, how the job is run, and what a typical scope looks like — before anyone asks for a price.

Every business on this page is fictional. These are concept builds — demonstration websites designed and built by the studio, not client websites.

Built for local business

About Lakefront Forge

Built with intention.

Lakefront Forge is an independent web design studio based in the Chicago area and focused on helping local businesses build stronger, more professional online presences—wherever they’re based.

The approach combines clean design, usability, responsive development, and straightforward communication. Every project is built around the individual business—not forced into the same generic template.

Common Questions

A few useful answers.

What types of businesses do you work with?

Lakefront Forge focuses on local service businesses and small businesses, including contractors, home-service companies, mobile service providers, and other established or growing local businesses.

How long does a website typically take?

Timing depends on the scope, content availability, review pace, revisions, and specific project requirements. A realistic schedule is discussed before work begins.

Can you redesign an existing website?

Yes. An existing site can be evaluated and redesigned around clearer goals, stronger presentation, improved usability, and the content worth keeping.

Will my website work on mobile?

Yes. Every website is designed to work thoughtfully across phones, tablets, laptops, and larger screens—not simply reduced to fit.

Can you help connect my domain?

Yes. Domain connection and launch preparation can be included, with the exact setup depending on your current domain provider and website platform.

Can I update the website later?

Yes. The right approach depends on what you expect to update and how often. That can be planned before development so the finished site remains practical to maintain.

What happens after the website launches?

The launch includes final checks across key screen sizes and contact paths. Ongoing help with updates, content changes, maintenance, and improvements can be discussed separately.
